The first hour in the car was pretty stressful! It started out with Larry getting in the car on the wrong side. Ha! Ha!
The "Kiwi's" drive on the opposite side of the road here and the steering wheel is on the opposite side also! Larry had white knuckles for the first hour and I'm pretty sure I had at least two or three heart attacks!
But...the drive to Dunedin was spectacular!
We felt like someone dropped us into a story book. The countryside here is unbelievable and I'm not sure we can adequately do justice with our words describing it.
Although we enjoyed the big city of Sydney immensely, being here in New Zealand is completely different. It is very laid back and a much slower pace. I'm sure the Sheep here outnumber the people 20 to 1! The hillsides are greener than green with sheep roaming all over them. The ocean was on the other side of the road. Just an amazing drive!
We feel blessed beyond measure for this experience and we are so very thankful to God!
Our New Zealand word of the day...."Gob Smacked". The motel owner told us he was "Gobsmacked" by the museum here! Hee Hee!
We also learned that they say "Takeaway" instead of "To Go" when referring to food at McDonalds.
