Feb. 8th - KAIKOURA NEW ZEALAND

Well...here it is day 10 of our trip! We drove from Ashburton, NZ to Kaikoura today.  Kaikoura is a small town right on the ocean.  The little motel we are staying at is right across the street from the ocean.

We walked down to a little pub (only place in town showing the Super Bowl) and had lunch and watched the game with 3 other people.  Imagine that...no one cares here about the Super Bowl!  Then we walked the little shops and came back to our room to rest.  We signed up for a Dolphin Encounter tomorrow morning at 5:30 in the morning. I guess there is a pod of 500 here right now!

Here's some more fun things the "Kiwi's  say here in NZ:

"Have a look see" = Look around
"Cheap as chips" = Inexpensive
"Cheers" = See you or goodbye
"Lollies" = Candy or sweets
"Ring me up" = Give me a call
"Jandals" = Flip Flops
"Cuzzie" = Cousin
"Hot Chips" = French Fries
"Tramping" = Hiking
"Not Even" = Not true
Going "Flat Out" = Going Fast
"Togs" = Swimsuit

The view right across the street from our motel

Look how happy he is!
He found a place to watch the Super Bowl!

Beach Bum!

Our motel:  The Kaikoura Boutique Hotel
